Peter Lion was inclined towards writing from a very young age. During his maturing years in Connecticut he was seen dabbling in poetry and also wrote a number of short stories. His talent within this field was further honed when after joining the Notre Dame High School in Connecticut he soon began contributing to the students school newspaper.
He got down to create a career of his passion for the words by first acquiring a degree in Journalism through the Southern Connecticut State University. He printed his first magazine article inside the Hartford Magazine before he had graduated with his journalism degree.
He entered to the television business even before he had completed his college. A couple of months before graduation, Peter Lion took up a job with WTNH-TV as a part time graphics operator. This television channel was an associate with the ABC network and was based out of New Haven. Peter Lion though, didn’t have experience in this industry grabbed this opportunity to get an entry and also to create a foothold in the news and television industry.

He then transferred to Boston and started working together with WSBK as a Technical Director. He labored on several projects, his major one being the Boston Red Sox Baseball and Boston Bruins Hockey. He signed up with this team as a director and a technical director with the 10 PM news cast, which was to become the first in the state. Peter Lion moved to Pittsburg and joined KADA TV after completing two years with this start up. It was during his stint at KADA-TV that Peter Lion found inspiration for his book titled The American St. Nick”.
He then moved back in Connecticut and was a part of ESPN sports network. Still a part of ESPN, he’s in charge of a number of their shows like Sports Centre as well as the NFL Draft as part of his position in the organization as a Director. His main show however, remains, College Gameday.
He has been a two time winner of the Emmy awards, although he’s been nominated many times for his contribution while in the television industry. He got his first Emmy for his work with Sports Centre and received his second Emmy for the show NFL countdown.
Apart from working, Peter Lion is presently focusing on his 2nd book. He’s also a part of a band that goes by the name of Cheaper than Therapy” and is its lead singer as well as guitarist
